Born in Nova Scotia, Tim Forbes is a contemporary, neo-minimalist artist now based on the south shore of Nova Scotia on the Ancestral Territory of the Mi’kmaq People. His award-winning international studio practice investigates nuanced abstract symbolism in bold black & white-base works on canvas as well as haptic perceptions in large sculpture form, while photo-based imagery explores psycho-geographic narratives of nature, cultural memory and built environments.
“Essential in the abstract works must have a destination, the arrival of which is addressed in a contemplation of function either within the emotive or within the form.” – Forbes
