This 14.5” Moosehide drum titled “The Community Spirit Drum” displays two fishing shacks being supported by a humpback whale(putup). Although the whale was feeling alone, it realized that the community and culture has its back. Our culture and community supports us. However, it is important for us to support our culture and community as well. It is important for us to give back to our culture, community, and the land, for all that it supplies us. Not, financially, but, spiritually. “When we support each other, we build our culture, and honour our ancestors. Msit No’kmaq(All My Relations-We Are All Connected)”. This drum was completed in 2023.
