The vessel name of WAKE disturbed most of the crew of Celtic descent for obvious rea-
sons. Superstition and omens often lurk in the shadows of the sea. For the crew, the
thought of diving into the icy depths in a vessel with a name referencing death stirred tales
steeped in caution and many transferred if they could. Superstitions aside she was so
named because of a trailing decoy marker that would be visible in the wake.
