HERR MAUSCATEER
The MAUSCATEER earned her name due to the mouse ear shaped sonar mounted on the conning tower. This unique feature not only gave the German submarine a memorable name that infringed and taunted the Americans on Disney copyright but also advanced sonar technology. Her improved hydrodynamics, enhanced acoustic performance, and reduced acoustic signature, made it hard to detect by potential adversaries.
