From the Ocean Harmony (Apaqtk Wantaqo'ti) Collection (2022)
This original acrylic painting titled: “Ocean Strength” (“Apaqtk Melkita'suaqn”) displays two whales(putup) supporting their community not only physically, but, spiritually. Inside the whales are the Mi’kmaq Star, two double curve floral designs, and the Hieroglyph for strength. The fishing shacks(nme’jui’kan) display the Mi’kmaq Hieroglyphs “Mi’kmaq Strength Forever” to show that the village are receiving spiritual strength and support from the whales.
