The CLOVESTUD was so named because of the explosive laden detonators that festooned the bow... much like a clove studded orange common of the table at festive gatherings. The crew were viewed as the bravest in the land for it was the sole mission of this vessel to pilot into the middle of a flottilla and bump against the hull of the middle ship causing a powerful explosion.
